I won’t get into making goals for yourself because I’ve published articles on that already.

I will say that it’s still important to set goals for ourselves.
What if you knew that every moment of every day presents you with new life, new opportunities, and literally brand new cells in your body? That is all #truth. And it’s one principle that has helped me get through the tragedy of my son being taken from me by gun violence.
Here’s what you need to know when you set important goals, and when the outcomes are nothing like what you hoped:
When you set a goal, aim for what you truly desire and know that anything can happen.
Be open. By the time your goal is accomplished, you might not even want it anymore. Or you might want it but something gets in the way, or some other amazing thing becomes far more important than that goal you set. Or your goal could take you to even more incredible results than you could’ve imagined… if you allow possibility to exist along the way.
Now, I’m not talking about caving in to your ego-mind’s stories about possible awful outcomes. NO THANK YOU. I’m talking about the multitude of self-expanding possibilities that really do exist in energy form for you (or if you want to get really deep into this, in other dimensions or realities).
What if there are other ways for your outcome to happen that you’re just not aware of right now? If you already are holding space for whatever might come up or shift, and you’re not attached to an exact outcome, then the results that are for your highest good will show up for you.
You know what? That’s going to happen anyway, so just do your best to allow it, okay?
Holding space for yourself and your desires and goals is an act of self-love. [TWEET]
When you open up communication with the ever-flowing river of what the Universe has for you, and you grab a paddle but still let the Universe lead with the other paddle, and let the river carry you… you’ll be amazed at what shows up.
Manifesting outcomes isn’t really about the outcome.
Manifesting outcomes is actually more about the journey you take as a result of setting the goals. [TWEET] Really take that in for a minute. It’s more about the journey than the outcome.
Think back to a goal you set, whether you accomplished it or not. What happened along the way? You originally charted a course. Did you veer from it? Did you ditch it completely? What came up for you emotionally? What, if anything, got in the way? What did you maybe think was in the way that was actually a blessing or teaching in disguise? Where did you end up? What did you learn? What did you share? What did you receive?
We make more of a difference than we realize, just by taking aligned action towards something we desire. This is why I don’t believe in failure.
If the outcome is a little (or a lot) scary, prepare yourself beforehand and along the way!
I’m working on a big scary album project right now. We got some funding for it from the Ontario Arts Council – 2 grants – and we are still $16,000 away from our fundraising goal. My last album took me 3 years to complete because of funding issues. Now I could latch onto that story and assume it will take me that long again… OR I can choose a new story, a new outcome, set a goal and prepare for it. I knew when I began this project that it would be huge, and also have huge expenses. I also knew that it had to be created NOW.
I have had many moments of fear arise because of how huge this is. I mean, already after not having much of a musical presence in mainstream media for several years, on May 27th, 2019 I suddenly was on the front cover of the Toronto Star! That was a WTF holy shit moment for me. I knew I’d be in the Star, but not on the front page! But I was prepared anyway, why?
I’ve been working with the parts of myself that are afraid of how big this could go and how it could change my life and impact many others. I also had my assistant prepare us technologically for bigger bursts of traffic to the website and bigger publicity. I did even more actually, so that I can feel safe on this big journey of expansion of my grieving soul, my business, my musical career and my Joy.
Think about one of your big scary goals right now. What could you be doing NOW to prepare yourself for when you manifest those desires? I mean, whether you manifest a goal or not, you’re expanding yourself and your capacity to receive what your soul really desires. [TWEET]. Win win situation right here.
The river of Life is wide and deep. Source energy – life force – is everywhere. We can tap into it or fall out of it any time. Why not enjoy the ride as much as possible? But be ready for the wild currents and waterfalls along the way. Oh and don’t let those downward spirals suck you in.
