RENEWAL: Your Springtime Playlist

Mental Health | 0 comments

It’s almost spring. As our side of Mother Earth wakes up again, I thought I’d create a beautiful spring playlist of songs for renewal just for you.

RENEWAL is a collection of inspiring music for spring, for new beginnings, to help you move from endings into what’s here now and flow into what’s next. Some of these songs for renewal are mine and I’ve included several by some of my favourite artists, like India.Arie, Lauren Hill and Bob Marley. Some old school and some new. A blend of reggae, folk, soul, hip hop and of course Indigenous music.

I love music you can FEEL, not just music that entertains, so this spiritual music playlist is great for healing, expansion and of course, renewal.

Let’s lighten and brighten up together and connect with the life-giving energy of spring and renewal through inspiring music.

With political and environmental chaos sweeping the planet, it’s good to have anchors in your life that will bring you back to YOU, to who you truly are, and who you are becoming. Music is an easy way to program your brain for health, success, wealth or whatever you want to amplify in your life. Singing along or deep meditative listening can literally rewire your brain, so choose your music carefully. Music can also trigger you to feel and release pent up emotions, or to feel higher frequency emotions like love, joy and gratitude.

After a long winter, it can feel so good to come alive again and this spring playlist will help you literally spring back to life.

Music can bring you into the present moment. It can help you open back up to flow and connection when you’ve gotten tight, frustrated, angry or you’re feeling disconnected. The songs for renewal on this spring playlist will help you transmute that tightness and the heaviness of winter (and frankly, of the political and climate chaos and global affronts to Indigenous human and land rights) that has been hitting us hard. Even if you don’t know what’s going on, those emotions many are feeling are “in the air.”

Mass consciousness is real and it affects us empaths on a deeper level than most people. We can counteract that in lots of ways but one of the most powerful and easiest ways to override mass consciousness is to listen to music that aligns with your heart, your soul, and Life itself.

I’ve selected some of my own healing songs for renewal and springtime, and I’ve added some of my favourite uplifting inspiring music from a range of genres. The music I’ve chosen will help launch you into Spring or any kind of new beginnings in your life.

Enjoy this spring self-care playlist!

If you’re busy, just throw on the music in the background and get to work!

If you want to go deeper, carve out some time to meditate, dance, move or sing along… and then hit play. Or play it in your car or on your next walk or while you’re exercising.

Embody the music by moving, tapping or snapping your fingers, or singing to it. Getting the music into your body will help your body remember the experience of how good the music feels.

If you don’t resonate with a track, or you don’t feel like going into the emotion associated with it, skip it for now if you want, but first, understand WHY you’re not resonating with it. Is it because part of you is afraid to express difficult emotions? Is it because you’re feeling stuck and really, this music will help you get unstuck? The ego likes to keep us in our patterns. To crack a pattern, you’ve got to do something out of your comfort zone. Listening to a song that might break you out of old patterns is a gentle way to create a shift in your life.
