How to Claim Your Name, Title & Purpose #TruthbyBrenda

Identity & Purpose | 0 comments

Here’s your 21st Medicine Song Oracle Cards™ reading, along with the audio clip of the medicine song that matches the card.

The cards and the songs from my Medicine Song CD interact with each other to amplify the energy and experience for you. The cards are based on the Ojibwe medicine wheel the way I was taught by indigenous traditional teachers, and my own Medicine Wheel of Success system, as well as the 13 Grandmother Moons of the lunar cycle and the 28 days of each Moon cycle.

Your 21st reading is based on the song “Medicine Song”. Click on the audio player at the top of this week’s blog to hear the clip and meditate to the healing art while you read the message for the week.

The “Medicine Song” Visualization Card is from the West direction of the medicine wheel, representing Wateremotionsdreaming and living your dream.

“Medicine Song” is the title track of the CD that comes with the cards, and I’m being told right now that is very significant with our reading and teaching today.

It’s about taking your title – owning your title and standing fully in the role of who you are.

The song and painting are about getting “into your Vortex”, meaning doing lots and lots of whatever lights you up, being positive, laughing… basically getting into a higher vibrational frequency.

In this case, it’s about claiming your role in this lifetime. Yes, we have many roles, but what is the role that is uniquely yours? What is your purpose? I know some of you are very clear about that and some of you have not found it yet or are shifting into a new one. That’s okay. Tune in to the frequency of your heart – just breathe deeply into your heart – and ask your Higher Realms Support Team to help you nail this.

If you want support around finding your purpose or activating or owning it, I may be able to help, so feel free to reach out to me.

Get into the Vortex. Do lots of what lights you up. Hang out with people you feel good around. Go to places that feel good to you. Somewhere in the mix of all of those things you love to do is your role and title.

So about names… I have taken on stage names, spiritual names, different business names, and then I received my Native American name Medicine Song Woman, which people immediately viewed as a title. I had to step up to a higher level of owning my name as a title because people kept introducing me that way. And then any time I got onto a stage and they said I was “a medicine song woman” it really bugged me, because I had claimed my name as a title. There is only ONE Medicine Song Woman in the world and I’m her. Not that someone else won’t have your name somewhere else in the world. That could happen. But when you combine you name, title and role, that’s your unique foundation that nobody else can stand on but you.

What is your name or title that you can own and claim? And if you can’t get to that right now, put in a request to your ancestors and guides for it, and ask people who are close to you what they think would be a good title for you. Ask them what they find special about you.

In my indigenous tradition, you go to an elder to get your name. I waited to do that until I knew I had the right elder and I developed my relationship with her over about a year until it felt like it was right timing. Then I asked her to do a naming ceremony for me. However it happens for you, it is a beautiful empowering experience, because that name or title that Spirit gives you is like an energetic fingerprint. It becomes the way you introduce yourself to the spirits whenever you do a ceremony or ritual, and if you’re a business owner, it could be the title or tagline that defines you and your business.

So yes, a good starting point could be for your business title or a spiritual name you already carry that you need to claim and own.  It could even be a nickname that makes you smile and feel good.

It also may be the beginning of your naming journey. Sometimes it happens quickly. Other times it takes weeks, months or even years. We all have a name that Spirit knows us by – and sometimes it’s just finding the right spiritual teacher or medicine person with that gift of naming, or it could be that you do a medicine journey or meditation or special nature walk.

If you want to have a traditional indigenous naming ceremony, contact Grandmother Joanne Dallaire. She is my elder and the one who brought my name down from the spirit world for me.

Wow. What I’m getting right now is that it’s really really important for us all to claim our title and role… because… I see all kinds of ancestors and guides trying to communicate with us and with each other to light up the grid surrounding the planet. When we get clear on our name, title and role, it’s like our place on the grid lights up automatically and makes it easy for them to communicate with us.

What I’m also getting is that it isn’t even just the name or title… it’s more about the act of CLAIMING your role in the world, that helps the spirits to connect to you and the others on your Higher Realms Support Team.

So if you want to enrich and deepen your communication with the spirit world, and be who you came here to be in this lifetime, this is an important step.

Now… noting that this is a Visualization Card that showed up for us, it is also up to YOU to see what you see, feel what you feel, notice what you notice in the card and in the song as you listen to it. Trust yourself. Whatever the very first little knowing or feeling or message is, trust it, because it is Truth.

The spirits seem to have opened up and stirred up a big pot of more questions. If you have any questions about this, post them on the blog. I’d be happy to answer them if I can.

Love & Blessings,

Brenda MacIntyre, Medicine Song Woman
