Are You in the Drone Zone? Time to get out (Part 1)

Leadership | 0 comments

Are you in the Drone Zone? There are 2 Drone Zones you can fall into and neither one is good for business. This week, let’s talk about Drone Zone #1:

Drone Zone #1: Silencing Your Inner Rebel (Your Inner Leader in Disguise!)

Don’t rock the boat. You know that saying? There’s even a song about it lol. We’ve been programmed into just doing as we’re told and it’s so embedded into our consciousness (and mass consciousness) that many of us need to be told to do something, and exactly HOW to do it or it doesn’t get done. If you are NOT an entrepreneur and you don’t want to be, that might work for you. But if you want a successful business, that default programming gets you nowhere fast.

Let your Inner Rebel and your spirit play together and tell you what to Do. [Click To Tweet]

Self-accountability and time management are necessary for entrepreneurial success, but most healers, coaches and practitioners are only really good at that when it comes to actual client sessions. They’re usually NOT that great at either one when it comes to things like marketing, sales or anything that puts them outside their comfort zone – which keeps them inside Drone Zone #1. If this is happening to you, know that you’re not alone. It is unfortunately very common.

Here’s an example: My guess is that more than 50% of the people reading this article have not booked time for sales into their calendar for the next week. And of the – let’s say to be generous 45% – who did, about 20% of those people actually used that time as they said they would. And of them, about 2% spent the whole time enrolling clients over the phone, which is the fastest, most effective way to generate an income. Everyone else found something “more important” to do, got distracted, or just let fear – or other subconscious programming – take over and stop them.

This is a tell-tale sign that you are silencing your Inner Rebel. As an entrepreneur, YOU are the one who has to tell you what to do. If you silence your Inner Rebel, who also happens to be your Inner Leader, your business won’t be a success because:

  • You won’t make timely leap-off-the-cliff decisions in your favour.
  • You will avoid being seen and heard with as much conviction as you know you actually WANT to be seen and heard.
  • Fear and self-doubt will leave you in the ditch wondering where the clients are at.

You know what? I’m VERY familiar with Drone Zone #1 because I lived there for more than half my life. Get out NOW if you want to be a successful entrepreneur!!!

So What to Do? How Do You Get Out Of – or Avoid Altogether – Drone Zone #1?

If you want to be successful as an entrepreneur and leave Drone Zone #1 behind, you need to short circuit your embedded default programming and kick-start your system with fresh new programming from YOU. From your Spirit, your essence, who you really are. You need to find your own voice. You need to let your Inner Rebel have her voice. You need to stop letting other people tell you what to do and YOU – awakened you – need to take charge.

You might be thinking, wow, then how is anyone going to like me at all? You can find the balance between being a leader and rebel, and playing well with others (like your coaches, potential clients, joint venture partners and referral sources) in the #SacredPlayground of business.

For example, we have to follow certain rules, like eat food and drink water, or we die. But there are also plenty of rules we can bend and break, and ways we can play within the natural laws.

You can follow the rules of the various sacred playgrounds you are in and still be who you are. That’s the balance you want to strive for and here’s what it looks like:

  • Mutual Respect
  • Understanding and Upholding Your Own Boundaries
  • Knowing and OWNING Who You Are
  • Pushing Yourself to Expand Beyond Your Default Settings
  • Speaking Your Truth

Just because people tell you it can’t be done, or has to be done in a certain way, doesn’t meant that’s true. In fact, your Inner Rebel, in cahoots with your spirit, will find an extraordinary way to do what others think you can’t do. #truth [Click To Tweet]

Example: I just did my 2nd Annual Winter Solstice Giveaway. It’s my own invention. A hybrid between telesummit and JV giveaway that gives back to a charitable cause. Screw other people’s formulas. I do things MY way. The results? Over 1000 more people on my list and we raised about $700 for an Aboriginal women’s shelter and support centre. Made some new friends too. (:

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you can’t be a drone. You need to be the Queen Bee.

How will you program yourself to be the Queen Bee and get out of the Drone Zone for an amazing 2015?

TIP: Trip up the Universe. I wrote a blog about this before, about doing something different to break patterns and get different results. Getting out of the Drone Zone is taking tripping up the Universe up a notch.

Have a good honest look at where you’re falling short, not to beat yourself up but just to become aware of where you sit on the scale as an entrepreneur, leader, rebel and rule-bender (not to mention time-bender!), and whether you really want to be that or not. Both paths – Queen Bee and Drone – have their beauty and their difficulties. It’s just you want to choose the one that is calling you deeply, and go deeply into it.

So what do you want? Status Quo or Leading Edge? Drone or Queen Bee? Employee or Entrepreneur? You get to decide.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the Drone Zone, or the highlights of your 2014, or where you’re headed with your 2015… so go ahead leave us a comment and I’ll be sure to respond. (:

Have an AMAZING New Year’s Eve and we’ll see you in 2015!

Love & Blessings,

Brenda MacIntyre, Medicine Song Woman
