Happy Mother’s Day! Yes, you, even if you have never had children or pets.
YOU are the mother of YOUR business. Yes, even the men reading this. You have birthed your business – unless you’re still pregnant with it of course.
You know what else? You are the mother of YOU. You are always birthing new parts of yourself into existence. If you’re doing business the way I love to do it, you’re also birthing more and more of yourself and your spiritual gifts into your business (that’s the magic!!).
Mother’s Day is this Sunday here in Canada. It’s a day that gets mixed reviews from me. So this year I wanted to do something special that will help you and me with ourselves and our businesses, regardless of how hot or not Mother’s Day is for you.
Here’s why the mixed reviews…
My mother committed suicide when I was a teenager about 2 weeks before Mother’s Day. My biological mother gave me up for adoption the moment I was born. I’m a single mom and have had to raise both of my kids on my own. My son is 28 and my daughter is 17. Both are home right now. It’s been one hell of a challenge… and raising my kids has stretched me (yes, pun intended lol) in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Children are the greatest teachers.
That’s true of your business too. Being an entrepreneur really is like a giant ongoing personal development course.
That’s why I’ve created a Mother’s Day Challenge for you. Part of this is sacred self-care!
MOTHER’S DAY CHALLENGE: For the Next 6 Days…
1. Take care of and nurture YOU in at least one way you normally wouldn’t. I’m talking financially, physically, emotionally, creatively and spiritually. The truth is, if you don’t take care of yourself, you’re doing business from a place of emptiness, lack or need. What do you CRAVE right now? How do you want to FEEL? Each day for the next 6 days, ask yourself these questions and find ways to create at least one of the experiences you desire.
2. Take care of and nurture your business. Explore how you can mother your business in a nurturing, loving way. If you’re already doing that, how can you upgrade the level of your mothering of your business? What does your business want and need from you? What does it crave? What kind of attention do you need to give it that you haven’t been? Just one thing each day. You can do this!
3. Join my Spiritual Entrepreneurs Success Circle Facebook group and take the challenge in my closed community, a safe sacred space where you can post about your Mother’s Day Challenge. I’ll be posting in there and inviting the 1000+ members to share about their experience of the daily challenge. Then you won’t be alone. (:
TIP #1: Push yourself and your business just out to the edge of your dis-comfort zone. That’s where all the juice is – creativity, inspiration, money, spiritual downloads, aha’s, magnetism… they live in your dis-comfort zone. Get yourself onto that edge every day and feel the energy and fire that flow from it.
TIP #2: Whenever you do push up against the edge of that dis-comfort zone, it can bring up stuff to be healed or released. Old habits, behaviours… or other people’s habits and behaviours. Your boundaries, and anywhere you need to find your voice. DON’T TAKE THIS AS A SIGN THAT YOU SHOULD QUIT. It’s actually a sign that you’re breaking through something for the better. So be easy and gentle on yourself as you rock your own boat and test the waters.
Lots of Love & Blessings,
