Back in the River: Creating Flow and Balance in Your Biz

Finding Your Voice | 4 comments

This is your 8th of 13 weekly channelled readings from my Medicine Song Oracle Cards™, along with the audio clip of the medicine song that matches the card.

The cards and the songs from my Medicine Song CD interact with each other to amplify the energy and experience for you. The cards are based on the Ojibwe medicine wheel the way I was taught by indigenous traditional teachers, and my own Medicine Wheel of Success system, as well as the 13 Grandmother Moons of the lunar cycle and the 28 days of each Moon cycle.

Your 8th reading is based on the song “Back in the River.” Click on the audio player at the top of this week’s blog to hear the clip and meditate to the healing art while you read the message for the week.

This Visualization Card is from the West direction of the medicine wheel, representing visualizing, dreaming, living your dream, emotions and water. The song “Back in the River” is about jumping into the river, the flow of life in your business.

Where is the lifeline in your business? Well, technically that would be you but I mean where is the pulse the strongest? Where is it the weakest? What currents are running through your business right now?

When you get a Visualization card there is no message on the actual card because it is up to you to develop and practice using your intuition and ability to “read” your own situations. What do the colours in the image say to you? How about what’s happening in the image and what and who are present?

Take some time right now, before you go any further, to gaze at the card and listen to the song, so you can get your own intuitive hit on what’s up for you and your business right now.

After you give yourself a reading, come back here and I’ll share below what my take is.

What I’m feeling is for you this week is to have a good look at your business and where the flow is or is not. And then take action to do something about it.

Questions To Ask Yourself:

  • Do I need some outside support with something specific to help me move forward?
  • Is money flowing how I want it to?
  • Am I transitioning into something greater with my business (HINT: a LOT of us are)? Maybe I’m in need of a business midwife to help me birth this new form of myself or my business?

Whatever it is, be honest with yourself about where things are flowing well and where there might be stagnation or obstructions or where perhaps the riverbed is showing because the water no longer flows.

WOW. Just got this download… Don’t forget to look at where there is overflow, flooding even. Are you giving too much and not letting yourself receive the money you need to sustain yourself and your business? Are you taking in so much from so many places that you’re in overwhelm from all the well-meaning information?

We need to have balance with our flow, just the right amount of energy, money, time, action steps, visioning, spiritual connection, downtime and playtime to make it all tick. When something gets off that balance, it can throw us off with everything. Remember, these oracle cards are based on the indigenous medicine wheel, which is all about that balancing act. Not saying it has to be perfect – that’s why flow is important here.

From this place of awareness, you can soak in the healing energy that water brings, clear your pathway forward and allow the river to carry you into what’s next for you and your business.

BONUS TIP: What are 3 action steps you can take in the next week to clean up the balance of that flow?

See you next week.

    Dear Brenda,

I am moved by your words, stories, and songs. You have a very deep well of strength and the waters you share with us all in the tears, laughter, and love that pours from your heart and soul really moves my e-motions. I fondly think of emotions as what energy-in-motion. There is lots to being human, form how we balance our daily life with our emotions as fuel to energize our spiritual, mental, and physical aspects. You have yours tempered by wisdom. I hope that someday I will have the good fortune to come across a path with you in person and maybe I will have the good fortune to walk together with your for a time. I feel very blessed for stumbling upon your music today and the Healing Song. Thank you so much for your inspiration and it did bring tears flowing.

I have a earth spirit brother that I have not been able to find now for many years. We share a name and I know that I should be doing something more to hold up his life and contribute in continuing to hold him up. I am worried that he has left us here to be with the ancestors. I did not do enough on the healing journey with him. I know that residential school has taken many from us even while they walked the earth.

I acknowledge that I live, love, learn, and grow on the unceded and ancestral lands of the Musqueum, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations of the Coast Salish People.

      Hi Skye,
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, that’s how I think of emotions too – they are meant to be in motion but we often try to hold onto them. I’m so glad Healing Song brought those medicine tears for you. Prayers for your earth spirit brother and for you.

My appologies for the errors in my first comment wrote this a second time. I see that it could used some edits if you did want to post it, and that is not why I wrote it. I will to through it again and correct my sentences sd that it is clearer, but it hold the words that I wanted to say to you and I know that you will get over my typing errors and know exactly what I am saying. I wish we could all talk more and type less. My love and respect for all you are doing!

Hey Skye, no worries about any errors. Sometimes free-flow writing is the best. We just get our message out, whatever is on our hearts, without it having to be perfect. That’s what I love about journaling. Blessings to you.
